Another walking video

I know I just posted a video of Korben walking earlier today but we went to Granny and Pops house tonight so we were able to get some better footage. I still can't believe that Korben just started walking by himself today and he's already such a pro at it! He even stands up on his own now and starts walking instead of just starting out by pulling up on something. I'm so proud of him! So a friend of mine has taken her little boy to our church's toddler play area and we were supposed to meet there this morning for a play date and I was a jerk and didn't show because it COMPLETELY slipped my mind until about 1:00 this afternoon! To my unnamed friend, I want to apologize again; I am sooooo ridiculously sorry!! Why my memory is trashed these days, I have no idea! Anyway, I really wanted to take Korben so I decided to go ahead and go up there this afternoon by myself. He was playing one minute and then completely on his own, he just decided to walk over to me! People, I was freaking out! Korben has taken a few steps on his own but for the most part, he refuses to walk without holding someones finger so I was SHOCKED when he just up and decided to walk all by himself without me even trying to get him to! The video doesn't really do justice showing how much he was walking but you get the idea!

A week or two ago, I posted about Korben going out the doggy door to follow Sam but I wasn't able to get any pics. Since a couple of people mentioned it, and Korben was more than willing to cooperate this morning, I thought I would snap some photos of what this looks like. Enjoy!

We had to get a few things at Lowe's last week and Korben loved helping Daddy pick out his tools. He was very interested in what Daddy was doing. Of course, he was also very excited about sitting in the big part of the shopping cart! When he sits in the actual seat of the cart, he always tries to climb out so we tried putting him in the big part and he loved it!

And then there are days when his more sensitive side comes out and he wants to help Mommy do the dishes!

Reading again!

I got the Twilight book as a Christmas gift from Kristen this past year and I kept putting off reading it because I really didn't think I had enough spare time to read. Well, I finally started it last month and I was hooked. I couldn't put it down! It's amazing how you find time to do the things you love! And I really made the time to read that book... seriously... I finished it in about 3 days! It took me just over 2 weeks to read all 4 books in the series! Crazy, I know. It has been so long since I've read a good book and I had forgotten how much I LOVE reading! It's my escape from all the chaos and duties of real life!

Jill recommended that I read the Shack, so that's what I'm reading now and it is also good so far. It's a fiction story with some truth based stuff in it. You'll have to read it to know what I'm talking about. I personally kind of thought some of the writing was just a tad cheesy, but nobody else that I know that's read the book has said the same thing so it might just be me. Anyhow, if you can get past that part of it, it's a good story. If you like to read like me, then both of these books are good finds! Happy reading!

Little Outdoorsman

What happens when you leave the doggy door open and the dog goes outside? Well, of course you crawl through the doggy door yourself and go looking for the dog! Anyone who knows our son very well knows how much he loves his dog, Sam, and so when Sam went outside via the doggy door yesterday, Korben was right behind him! This was not Korbens first attempt to escape into the backyard, but this time he was too quick for us and he succeeded! Since it was such a nice day out, all three of us ended up out there and stayed for awhile. We chased Sam, picked the grass and Daddy went walking with Korben while Mommy took the pictures. It turned out to be a great afternoon!

At one year old, Korben STILL loves climbing into his baby bouncy seat! We put it in the upstairs game room just to store it somewhere out of the way but everytime we go upstairs, Korben has to get in it! So funny! It's a good thing that he's below average for his weight because I think it's only got a 25 lb weight limit!
