Pool Time with the Cuz

We were going to head to Lewisville yesterday and go to a splash park there with cousin, Caroline, but because Logan doesn't always do so well in the car, Uncle Jake was kind enough to bring Caroline here so we could avoid any car drama with our youngest son. We also wanted to stay close to home for water activities since Logan is still so young so that we could bring him home in case he didn't enjoy the water like the older kids and got too hot. The only downfall was that we missed Aunt Robin since she had to work. We missed you Robin and we'll be sure to make a trip to Lewisville soon. :)

Once Jake and Caroline got here, we headed to our neighborhood pool and we all had a lot of fun; it's always fun when we can get all 3 cousins together! Logan even had fun getting a few splashes in while he sat in the water, although he spent most of his time in the water being mesmerized by it and just staring. I meant to get a picture with all 3 of them together but of course I forgot! They should call it "baby brain" instead of "preggo brain" because it does not come back after you've had the baby!

Is he not the cutest thing ever?

Story Time Video

Logan got the pleasure of listening to his big brother read a story to him. This is the kind of stuff that makes me so grateful that my full time job is staying at home with these 2 little guys.

Science at Home

A few weeks ago, my friend, Kara, sent an email with a project idea for kids and it looked like something Korben would get a kick out of so we tried it today. We made homemade lava lamps and just as I suspected, Korben had a lot of fun with it! The bubbles don't last but a few seconds so you have to keep adding to it to keep it going but that was Korben's favorite part anyway. Nobody actually learned anything about science from this little experiment but it was fun none the less. :)

Fill a clear container a little over half way with vegetable oil then fill the rest up with water...

Add ten drops of food coloring...

Break an alka seltzer in half and add to the bottle. Watch the "lava" go! You can add more alka selzter pieces as the bubbles die down but if you put too much in at once, it gets cloudy.

We also made a blue one

You can put the lids on to make a more complete look although I think it's kind of a pointless step.

The Cuteness That is Korben and Logan

Several months ago, when I was still preggo with Logan, I bought a Groupon for a large 16x20 canvas for like $40. Those things are normally over $100 so I snatched one up and knew right away that I wanted to use a pic of the boys for it! So a couple of weeks ago, I remembered I had it and needed to use it soon so my neighbor and good friend, Laura, took a few pics of the boys for me. It was a super hot day but the boys both did great and Laura got some GREAT shots!! I could not be more pleased with how they turned out! If you're in the Dallas area and need some pics done, I highly recommend her! http://www.laurajunephotography.com/
Thanks again so much, Laura!

These are just a few of the shots she got....
